Warning: Contains major spoilers, so if you haven't watched/read Clannad be aware.

Why do everybody like the Clannad anime adaptations so much?

>My reasons for disliking them and comparing them to the VN:

0.First of all, first season of Clannad didn't have romance until the last moment. In the VN, Tomoya confessed to Nagisa much earlier and it wasn't that sudden. In the last moment in the anime Tomoya decided to confess to Nagisa, and it felt out of place.

1.In the first season and in After Story until Nagisa dies Tomoya is pretty much invisible. He wasn't that invisible in the VN, and there he was unvoiced! The anime butchered his personality completely.

2.First 8 episodes of After Story are composed of:
*First episode which is completely filler
*Leftover arcs which should have been included in the first season and are not really important to the plot aside from additional dragonballs and are totally unrelated to the After Story. Many other arcs were omitted which had dragonballs, so why not omit these arcs too? This was just made to unnecessarily prolong the After Story.

3.No feeling like in the VN. I don't understand why so many people cry from the anime when in the VN everything was much sadder. In the anime Nagisa's death was pretty much butchered without feeling like in the VN.

4.Many people think Nagisa is an unlikeable heroine in the anime, and the romance with her wasn't properly developed like in the VN, and Tomoyo After never got animated. Many other arcs were omitted which could have had an anime of their own but never got animated aside from the another world episodes which were very short and rushed. There was even a VN exclusive character (Kappei Hiiragi), which was never shown in the anime.

5.In the VN, each time you helped someone Tomoya had a dragonball in his hand, but in the anime it wasn't shown like that so the sense of accomplishment when helping someone was gone.

6.The happy ending only worked well in VN form, but in the anime it was out of place.

7.No Bomb-a-head in the anime and Sunohara had much more screen time in the VN, which there he was much more funnier and likeable.

Overall, Just read the vastly superior Clannad VN. Kyoani trolled me again with their unfaithful adaptation to the VN, just like Kanon 2006 which was very different from the VN+Endless Eight+The fact that they refused doing Little Busters for years, which was handed to JC Staff in the end+Hyouka which is a snorefest and is overrated by many people who make it to be so amazing+Chuunibyou anime which is bound to suck because it already has anime only characters.

Kyoani... WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
