Before I start, I'm a sucker for this genre and romance grasps a unbreakable hold on me in the first place. This review may be biased.
Story:
In my opinion the story was perfectly executed, it performed comedy situations which we're fun, it succeeded in the moments it tried to be cute and the drama was spot on. Like I said, I am a complete pushover when I watch Romance/Drama anime, but I honestly did enjoy the story with all my heart. Sure it was a little predictable in places but that was never a problem. I predicted what I wanted to happen and the anime pleased me by carrying it out. The light hearted side works in spectacular contrast with the romantic drama and can have you laughing or crying, well have me crying. Overall the story in my opinion was perfect for my tastes. People that do not like heavily romance based anime may not enjoy this, as that did seem to be the main plot all the way throughout.
Characters:
I really liked the characters, the main male character who is light-hearted and fun but on the other hand can be very dramatic if not a little wimpy. He always feels the need to cry along with me. The main female character is very similar to the guy but with less crying- but to narrow it down to just that would be an insult to the producers. She is so much more than that. We then have 2 main but slightly less main female characters. One of which has no dislikeable parts to her, she just bounces around like she's fallen into a rubber factory and mutated into some sort of overly-hyper bouncy ball. The other is insulting but plays the councillor sort of character throughout the entire anime.
Do I recommend it?
If you, like me, love a romance filled drama then I do believe you'll enjoy this thoroughly. If you prefer ghost stories and creepy shadow people, then I wouldn't strike this off your list either. While it is heavily romance based it still plays a creepy side along with it. There may be an army of people who disagree entirely with my review but this is genuinely my opinion, but then again, I'm not good at spotting bad things when I'm engrossed in the storyline. I guess you'll just have to shut your door, turn off your phone, order a pizza and don't come out until you've watched all of it or been so horribly disgusted by how bad it is to you that you've gouged out your insides with the crust of the pizza.
