Preliminary (2/8 eps)
Now I consider myself pretty fuckin well versed in the medium we've all come to know as anime. And I've seen a lot of good shit in my day. But there are few times that I've been so impressed and utterly moved by a show as to be motivated to write an impassioned piece to compel others to behold its glory. From the very first episode it's obvious that you've got pure gold on your hands. All the characters are multidimensional and have a lot of intricate back stories to reveal. This is especially true with the main character, Mato. She graces the viewer with countless interesting, multi-layered observations on the the world we live in. All of this is done in an incredibly down-to-earth way that makes it incredibly relatable. I mean we've all been in middle school and a lot of tough shit happened to us like bullying and being left out of the cool kids' cliques and being left to watch animes and read mangas. But the way her relationship with her friend Yomi develops in such a believable way that you can't help but get sucked into the show's intricate story of friendship and understanding. I really recommend that everyone give this show a shot because I can almost guarantee it will change the way you watch animes. It's really that brilliant.
