S-tory 9/10
A really interesting series, with a great plot. Its about 12 people with supernatural diaries with different types of power that battles to become God. They are forced to take the game since they have the potential. The anime simply copied almost everything in the manga, but there are a few noticeable changes like when Akise, Mao and Kosaka were in the cell that was supposed to be filled with cement, but in the anime they changed it to bad smoking gas, maybe to avoid horror for viewers. The part when Muru muru in the last of an episode was a great thing to do, having fun with her and stuff, just like in ep 25 about hearing Yuno's mom asking for advice, but it was just about hearing her problems. Yukiteru and Yuno kisses a lot of times that I love pretty much, unlike in Karate Kid when Black kid kissed young chinese and they haven't even reached 13 yet. The series has dark stuff like Killing, Sex Toy, Raping, Betrayal and other stuff which is my interest. So Basically the story has an originality on its own and follows logic especially about time leap.
P-acing 6/10
Just too fast, Really fast in each episode about 2-3 chapters of about 39 pages each were in one episode. The anime could have been much longer, maybe about 35 episodes? Who knows, but the series is just rushed. The ending even had a cliff hanger and shows a "live drama"? We foreigners might not even able to watch that. Fighting scenes are quite fast, in a good way.
A-nimation/Art 8/10
Openings and Endings seem to have low budget, but fighting scenes are really great, they give a refreshing way even though its just short. Another annoying thing about the Art is the darn Censorship of every cut offed body parts and stabbing of children. Quite short since this is Art.
M-usic/Sound 8/10
All songs are really great, DEAD END, Blood Teller, and others are great! Really great songs by Faylan and Yousei Teikoku. The sound effects about each date and each places shown with a "ting, ting, ting" are really ear-catching. And also the change of the future in a diary, sounds like a malfunction. Dark sounds are also great. The only thing about this part that I do not like is the voicing of each characters in the start of the series, mostly for Yukiteru and Yuno, its quite understandable since the seiyus are just beginners. Yuki being gay doesn't really sound that gay, it sounds more like a kid trying so hard to act gay, and for Yuno, Tomosa tries so hard to make her sound more adorable, but it ends up being creepy, which is mostly the target. But as the story progress Tomosa and Misuzu improves as Yuki and Yuno becomes more compatible with the voice.
C-haracter 7/10
Fucking Yuki is a kid undergoing puberty as he tries to run away from everything much like Shu from Guilty Crown, but Amano is worse. Almost everyone hates Yukiteru (even me) but as the story goes on he becomes more "courageous" as they say =.=, since he was able to say to Yuno her feelings. Yuno on the other hand is a character everyone likes even at the start of the series, she is really a likable Yandere character we hate it when she always clings to Yuki and not to us (ahaha!). She kills everyone for her satisfaction and Yuki's satisfaction as well. Other characters such as Muru Muru, Akise, Mineme, and Deus plays important roles that is pretty much anticipated by us, Akise is the gay detective who finds out almost everything, Deus is the god who is finding a person to replace him, Muru Muru is someone who clings to the main God and follows him/her until the end, and Uryuu is my second favorite that gets an important role in helping save the future and also has flying babies!!! :D They all progress as dynamic characters at the end of the series. While characters like 3rd who dies early, 4th who wants to save his son, 5th who got stabbed uncensored, 6th who was used as a sex toy, 7th who were a couple loving each other and the girl got raped in the past, 8th who was fat that one of the last, 10th who was killed by 4th, 11th who made the city in his control and 12th who was acting hero were characters that are not really dynamic but has each roles that we could like and their future changes in the third world. Some characters like Kosaka and the others are also influencial, so each characters are all useful in a way.
ALL- in all 4/5 or 8/10
The series is really great for a person who has not read the manga that they would pick the series as their best anime for Fall/Autumn 2011. Its true that it is great, but there has been some weeks that this series was not available and then finished quite late, (April 15?16?) And the cliff hanger of an ending made me say "WTF!!?" and I learned that it was going to have a drama maybe a sequel of the anime. I am pretty sure people who says this review is not helpful are people that are die hard Mirai Nikki Fan-boys/girls and wants this series to have at least 9/10 or 10/10 or maybe they would not like this review since they have a different view about it and enjoys it the most. Sorry to break it up to those people, but these are actual facts. I did not put much enjoyment of mine, since this review is just about facts on it. So I at least hope u enjoyed this review.
