The anime starts out really strong, and I would easily give it a 10. However, around the episodes were Saizen stopped subbing Eyeshield, the series started to decline in quality especially with the fillers. However, once the Kanto Tournament starts the series really starts to pick up again, and reminded just how awesome this series is; with the intense stakes and games I couldn't pull myself away.
Hiruma really steals the show with his demonic personality, and Eyeshield's light speed run is always enjoyable to watch. All the members of the team have a good backstory, and are fleshed out to the point where they don't feel like just a supporting character.
Just watch it. After 1 episode, I guarantee you'll be hooked.
