I thought this was pretty middling and just okay, as the plot didn't do anything noteworthy. The characters and animation dont stick out as much, and if you are like me and are a dub watcher, the dub wasn't super noteworthy, though I did like Ellin and Lotte a lot voice acting wise and thought the antagonist towards the end was pretty interesting.
However, the last 4 episodes where they introduced the black plague were pretty damn good. It felt like it was getting really good as it ended.
Don't be dismayed by the mixed feelings ranking, I actually would watch a second season of this. I had a good time and wasn't looking for anything stunning and that's what I got,
