Welcome To The NHK is one of the most brutally honest stories in anime. The main character, Satou Tatsuhiro, is in every way one of the biggest losers I have ever had the displeasure of watching. He believes in outlandish conspiracies, makes a fool of himself at every turn, is a terrible person to the people closest to him, and rarely learns from his mistakes. However, underneath all of this, he wants to get better. Saying that this journey is an uphill battle is a gross understatement. Satou manages to find failure after almost every milestone that he reaches in a way that is distinctly human and gives the anime a feeling of home. Welcome To The NHK understands the human condition, down to the flaws that everyone has and wants no one else to see.

I find myself coming back to this one. Like a warm embrace. it feels like home. 8/10
