An all time cult classic series where you watch unique characters do cute and funny things (as many have stated before). I'm not sure how or why its so engaging to watch but its my all time favorite "moe" comedy to watch for a reason, and I urge anyone who just wants to watch something silly to give it a try. Hell, even the opening and closing themes are amazing; Oranges and Lemons was a great choice to pick songs from, and the instrumental tracks played throughout the episodes are all soothing and enthralling. Soramimi Cake and Raspberry Heaven will be forever branded into my brain as the funny and nostalgic hot iron that is this show.
It's as close to perfect as you can get for a "comfort watch," with the only blemish seeming to be a character named Kimura who, at the start, the series tries to play off as a "don't judge a book by its cover" type of character, but quickly forgoes that to just make him an unlikable pervert just as he is in the manga (luckilly he doesn't get much screen time overall), which could have been a funny way to use his character if it was leaned into more. There's also Kaori, who is a bit more "on the nose" than in the manga, which might be a turnoff for some, but her antics still remain just as adorable as ever to me. Otherwise it can't be overstated how much I enjoy the humor and characters from this show I've known about through osmosis alone for years and years until I actually began to consume it, and now I find myself watching it again and again.
