The show is a bit of a mixed bag. From the start, it’s hard to believe that Mia acts so childish after going back to her 12-year-old self. She went through three years of horrible suffering before being executed, but she still behaves like a kid trying to avoid eating vegetables 🥦. There’s no sign of the trauma or fear you’d expect after such a tough time. I heard she has selective memory or slight amnesia in the story, but the anime doesn’t explain that, which makes it hard to believe since she remembers so many details from that timeline 🤔.
The main fun of the show is the gags and funny situations where people misinterpret Mia’s actions 😂. It’s hilarious, but starting with such a serious backstory makes it hard to accept her immaturity. If she had just found a book that foretold her fate, her childish behavior would make more sense. She wouldn’t have all those painful experiences and could only try to fix things through trial and error 📚. Instead, she often brags about her supposed maturity from those years without showing it. Avoiding people who opposed her instead of trying to make friends seems more like something a child would do, not a princess who survived years in prison.
Despite everything, poor Mia is still a bit clueless after returning in time. Luckily, people always seem to misunderstand her intentions in a good way 😂. In the end, I wish her the best, but the setting just didn’t work for me.
