When They Cry
Is a series that has become somewhat of a phenomenon in the horror anime genre, a highly engaging and unique series that has left a lasting impression on me.
1. Musical Accompaniment: Opening and ending theme of this series - ATAS. The 70+- OST tracks and each one sounds good, note EVERYONE.
2. Atmosphere: Here is my respect. Quiet and calm at first glance, but then it transforms into something dark and extremely menacing.
3. Characters: Although I didn't feel a strong attachment to any specific character, they all feel well-developed, alive, and realistic, adding depth and intrigue to the story.
4. Plot: Here it was divided into arcs, because of this the narrative is slightly sluggish (but not boring) and some points are not explained that can slightly spoil the detective part. However, overall, the plot is excellent. If you feel like some details are missing, read the visual novel.
5. Artwork: Perhaps one of the weaker points of the series, but it has its unique charm. The animation is normal for its time.
In conclusion: To those who say that this is a weak or bad horror series, I would say that horror is not just about jumpscares and violent scenes. It is a psychological, progressive phenomenon that aims to infiltrate your mind and unsettle you. How do you know you're not trapped in a closed loop, unable to remember when you will die or who will kill you. 10/10.
