No.6 (Anime) add (All reviews)

Spoiler
This is an anime that I would say loses its charm as the number of episodes increases. You rarely see that. Don’t get me wrong, it is certainly better than many average animes, but still, it falls short of its expectations.

The story is actually easy to understand, but it is still explained quite blandly.
Oftentimes, you have to interpret things yourself to explain what is happening around you.

Things I liked:

Shion as the main character. His charisma, his loving nature, and his ability to see things not just in black and white make him a great main character.

Shion’s mother. That’s how a mother should be. She loves her child more than anything, and you can tell that throughout the entire show.

The first episode was great, for me even the best episode in the entire anime.

The ending theme is love.

Things I didn’t like:

With the increasing number of episodes, the series loses its charm...

Nezumi. He is loud, violent, unpleasant, has personality disorders, and mood swings. Do I need to mention more?

Shion is exiled at the age of 12 (no future prospects) because he helped a fugitive child. Considering he was portrayed as a prodigy and the best of his year, this punishment is crazy.

From the point when bees/parasites crawled out of people and they aged and died within seconds due to their toxins. Sounds like a cheap horror movie.

The ending was catastrophic. SPOILER!!!

Why does the ending have to be so weird?

Safu becomes a queen bee.
Safu sacrifices herself to save the dead Shion and heals all his injuries.
Shion and Nezumi go separate ways.
No information on what happens next.

For me, the following scenarios would have been better:

Ending

Safu survives.
Reunion with his mother.
No more walls in No.6, people now live together in harmony.
A few months pass, Shion and Safu eventually study together.
Nezumi and Shion remain friends.

Ending

Shion and Nezumi stay together.
No more walls in No.6, people now live together in harmony.
Shion writes letters to his mother and, after some time, gathers the courage to visit her.

Ending

Shion temporarily says goodbye to Nezumi.
Reunion with his mother.
No more walls in No.6, people now live together in harmony.
A few months pass, Shion leaves the city and meets Nezumi, they are reunited.

Ending (actual ending)

Safu dies.
Shion separates from Nezumi.
He heads towards the city. Done.

How hard can it be to get a proper ending? Unfortunately, many animes have too rushed an ending, and No.6 is sadly one of them.
Thats i rate the anime with (7/10)
