Preliminary (1/1 eps)
It’s been a while since I’ve watched the previous season of Haikyuu, so imagine how excited I was when I heard there’s a new movie coming! Haikyu!!: The Dumpster Battle is the most anticipated game between Nekoma and Karasuno, so I can’t really help but expect a lot for this movie. And as you can see, it didn’t disappoint!

This movie is the continuation of the previous series, so I recommend watching that one first before pursuing this movie to fully enjoy and understand this movie. Trust me, it’s all worth it!

Just like their previous game, this movie let us get personal with the characters, particularly the Nekoma team. I love seeing how each of them have their own reason to play volleyball and why they want to win. I particularly like Kenma’s story and how this nonchalant character finally discovered that playing volleyball is fun. His rivalry with Hinata was pretty scary, hahaha, which is actually far from what I expected. I always think Kenma is very cute, so seeing his scary and intimidating side during this game was kind of traumatic, wahahaha. It just goes to show that despite his cute and innocent appearance, this kid is another force to be reckoned with on the volleyball court.

Aside from those two, it was also great seeing Kuro and Tsuki play. You can really see how Tsuki respects Kuro and how Kuro is so proud of his “little” student. Bokuto’s proud face is also pretty nice to see, awwww, they’re like father and mother to Tsuki, wahahaha. It was also nice to see Tsuki smiling for real in this movie, wahhhhhh!

When the music is on during their game, you should always expect that they will show you something great, so seeing Hinata hit that ball after jumping, or should I say, “flying” was so epic! After being discouraged for not being able to score, Hinata finally able to show everyone that he’s still there fighting. It was so good that I was almost close to crying. Uwaaah! They really need to release a new season soon!

And my, that ending was far from what I expected, so I am really looking forward to what will happen next if they play again in the future <3

Whether you’re a sports lover or not, I am sure you will also enjoy this franchise as much as I do! What are you waiting for, watch Haikyuu now, *wink.
