(This is a review of the VN, but I have no doubts the manga's also probably great)

This is probably the best story ever written. I am not one to give 10s out willy-nilly, as I don't want to dilute what "being a 10" means to me. I can probably count in one hand the amount of stories I have given such a score to. But even among them, this one stands above and beyond what fiction should even be able to do, and earns the title of "Masterpiece", which only one other story has been able to do for me. If I could give out one 11/10 to a singular piece of media, be that manga, novel, game, song, etc., this would probably be the one to get it. The characters are about as deep as the Mariana Trench, the plot is supremely clever, and the prose is incredibly well-written. The music and art add a level of depth that's hard to understate, and it helps they both have their very own distinctive styles from any other work. I can't say anything about the plot itself, as there's very little that isn't a spoiler, but it's an incredible tragedy that rivals whatever historical example you could give, be that Oedipus Rex, Hamlet, or whatever else.

In the Steam page for this VN sits the phrase "A true masterpiece does not ask permission to move you". You'd be excused for thinking this sounds incredibly pretentious. I know I did. And then Fata Morgana humbled me. I would recommend this to anyone, for every reason you can think of, and many more. 11/10
