To sum the adaptation up, it's pretty bad. It's so offensively bad that I'm actually taking the time to write my first ever recommendation on MAL, because I hate how high of a rating people gave it.

This anime is nothing but a pathetic person's wish fulfillment fantasy. The MC is overpowered, that's fine, there are plenty of overpowered MC's in anime. However how they develop the MC and other characters is terrible, as in there is no development, everything, even the MC, is completely superficial. You can stick him inside any other fantasy adventure anime as "stronger than average fighter" and he'd fit in just fine and serve equal importance in driving the narrative of the story. He moves from conquering 1 "challenge" to the next, each time gaining more OP abilities. When he has to fight a humanoid enemy rather than a monster? They are female, and after he beats them he r**e's them and then they fall in love with him. His power creep is horribly developed, he eats everything and gets their powers. What does it take to hunt things down? Nothing at all, just a long montage of him hunting in the woods, or killing a band of humans/elves and then eating them for a few dozen more skills. The story is mainly a slideshow of "I ate this, got this skill, then I ate that and got that skill". In between the eating, he fights badly developed enemies, takes their women, eats the men, and moves on.
This series can be summed up in a few sentences. The MC kills something, eats it and gets super strong. The universe conspires to give him everything he wants, legendary armor, weapons, the next monster that will give him his next OP skill etc. He uses that strength kill more things, get stronger. Along the way he defeats and r**e's his defeated enemies' women into his harem. That's about it.
