Why Watch ‘The Eminence in Shadow’?
An Avant-garde Shit?!
[Introduction]
Over the past decade the isekai anime had become much more popular than it ever was
with the release of a legendary trash in 2012. And we all know what that is. It's 'sword Art
Online'. After that the popularity of Isekai has raised among the newbies. And with each
passing years we are introduced to new different types of shits: bullshit, horseshit, holyshit
and many more. Only a few has just made their way up like rezero, that time I got
reincarnated as a slime and mushoku tensei.
But today I am gonna tell about a new shit that stinks even more, that's not like your typical
isekai. This isekai has broken the scale. It's broken the barrier of madness, craziness and
sanity. And it's The eminence in Shadow. This like a different kind of shit.
Do you know how the world's most expensive and delicious coffee is made? Well, it's made
from the shit of elephants. Similarly, Eminence in shadow is a mix of all kinds of shits which
gives birth to this elephant shit. The story is a bullshit, the main character is a holy shit, the
theme is a horseshit and overall it's an elephant shit.
It first aired in October, 2022 and ended with 20 episodes and the second season of this is
currently airing. And I wish there would be at least tons of seasons of this. Cuz once in a
while we need this kind of shits.
Okay now without wasting anymore time let me tell you about this anime.
[Title]
Alright, brace yourselves for the wild ride that is "The Eminence in Shadow." This anime is
like the avant-garde masterpiece of the isekai world, a symphony of chaos that defies the
laws of storytelling and logic. If Sword Art Online opened the door to isekai, then "The
Eminence in Shadow" just kicked that door off its hinges and set it on fire.
[Main Character]
Let me introduce you to our protagonist, or should I say, the Holy Shit of the story – Cid
Kagenou. Forget your typical isekai heroes with their noble intentions and heroic aspirations.
Cid is on a whole new level of insanity. His life's purpose? To be the puppet master of
shadows, the unseen force behind all heroic deeds. He doesn't want the glory; he just wants
to be the mysterious mastermind pulling the strings from the shadows. Move over
traditional heroes; Cid is here to outshine you with his lunacy.
[Plot]
Now, let's talk about the story. Or should I say, the Bullshit Odyssey? From as far back as he
could recall, Minoru Kagenou yearned to be the strongest. Yet, his pursuit of power wasn't
for show or praise. By day, he was just another face in the crowd, hiding his true intentions.
But by night, armed only with a crowbar, he battled biker gangs, unleashing chaos. He
mastered every fighting technique, honed every skill, but there are limits to human potential,
limits to how much one can evolve through training alone. No matter how strong he became,
there were barriers he could never surpass. What if he faced guns? A single shot could end it
all. To become a martial champion might offer some defense, but against nuclear or atom
bombs, even the mightiest warrior would fall in three seconds flat. Magic might have been
the thing he wanted. But that’s just a child’s fantasy. Amidst despair and frustration, he
chose to end it all, meeting his fate beneath the wheels of our infamous truck-kun. And
that’s the end of the story.
No, no. That’s just the start of his true legacy!
Minoru reawakens as Cid in another world – one where magic does exist!
Cid decides to form a secret organization, but not just any organization – one that's so secret
that even its members don't know they're part of it. Yeah, wrap your mind around that. It's a
tale that makes you question the very fabric of narrative coherence, and just when you think
you've got a handle on it, the story flips you upside down and inside out.
[Theme]
The theme? Horseshit! But not your run-of-the-mill horseshit. This is the kind of horseshit
that transcends the boundaries of conventional themes and gallops into uncharted
territories of absurdity. It's a thematic rollercoaster that leaves you exhilarated, confused,
and possibly questioning why you even watched it.
[Animation]
And the animation? It's not just elephant shit; it's the avant-garde elephant shit. The
animation studio must have had a blast crafting the psychedelic visuals that accompany Cid's
descent into madness. Colors you've never seen before, angles that defy geometry – it's a
feast for the eyes, and possibly a psychedelic trip without the need for any substances.
[Conclusion]
In conclusion, "The Eminence in Shadow" is not your average isekai. It's a bold experiment, a
testament to the fact that sometimes, in the vast landscape of anime, you need that one
series that throws sanity out the window and dances with madness. So, buckle up, embrace
the elephant shit, and let Cid Kagenou guide you through the labyrinth of lunacy. After all, in
the world of isekai, sometimes you just need a break from the norm, and "The Eminence in
Shadow" delivers that break like no other.
