The first thing that I would say I disliked about this how they just pushed another side character into the main story and made her side of the story the center of attention (Frederica). But that negative feedback was quickly replaced by the overwhelming surge of emotions on Episode 11, when Milena and Shinei unofficially met on the battlefield. I said something similar on my previous review on the first part of Eighty-Six, but goddamn, the OST production for this anime is astronomical, I couldn't stop the feels train... on god. There is not much to say other than it is near flawlessly made, it was something that you would usually find in a Mech-Drama anime, but the effort put into it is top-tier.

I am just really happy that I get to see them smile again, the process of being unable to actually dream of a future is really fucked up. I'm sure no one in their right mind would say war is something that would be a good thing to experience, but in reality, it's just full of shit, ugly, and horrible. They were forced to basically die fighting a bunch of crazy robots for a supremacist country that wants to have nothing to do with them. I can't even imagine being in their shoes bro that shit's crazy. But think about it, if you were annoyed by the adults worrying about them too much and wanting them to be in the rear instead of going to the frontlines, then you basically just watched Eighty-Six for the action-packed stuff, like rooting for Shinei, and shipping characters, no, it's much deeper than that. You do not have to be empathetic for every character to understand and completely absorb the dramatic sensation Eighty-Six has given you, but the small things count.

The only reason I gave Part 2 a rating of 9 is because I thought the flow of the show was a bit too fast, and you could predict what's going to happen, like what occurred in Episode 10, where someone would probably help Shinei in an unwinnable situation. But then, against all odds, the hero of the story turns it all around at that moment and wins. I know the element of "realism" shouldn't be what you are looking for in a mech-drama anime, but I kind of wish they made a different approach on that part? Idk, just my opinion.

Lastly, I'm just going to mention the metaphors in this drama is really good, how Shinei is treated as a "Reaper" for being way too skilled, awesome, and overpowered. And the way that the Legion takes people's memories and "souls" with them after taking their lives. Shinei as the "Reaper" having difficulties finding a solid reason for staying alive, finally gave himself an ultimatum of wiping away the Legion so that other people can enjoy their dreams easily, like being able to "See the sea" and "Swim in the ocean", kind of similar to what Luffy from One Piece wants. A temporary reason, a purpose, and what it takes to live. All the pain and suffering trying to survive in a very unjust and unfair situation, finding meaning in living their lives, Shinei and the squad are strong and brave. A way to describe them best is that they are very human.

Despite the differences in setting, I resonated with the characters' strong determination to "not die", and to move forward and just keep fighting! I aspire to be like them. if you feel like you're against the world, there will always be people who will support you and lend their hand, you just have to let them. Face the challenges, fighting! (cringes and dies)
