But here's what I don't like about sequels, it completely and utterly destroys whatever the viewer's interpretation of the whole anime and ending was. Adding more frosting to a already perfectly frosted cake doesn't mean it's going to taste better. This 2nd season should be more of an OVA, because there's really nothing else to add to the story. We've already seen this guy kill goblins nearly every episode in the first season, there's no reason to create more story to such a wacky storyline in the first place, the only reason 1st season was good was because we got all the context information we needed in a single season.
These are just my personal opinions though so take it with a pinch of salt, if you liked the 1st season and want to give the 2nd season a try then do so, all I'm saying is that you shouldn't get your hopes up because there's really nothing left of the plot to be told, they're just winging it with some more fan service.
