It's not a manga, but a short novel first off. Really fun read if you like to learn more about Muhyo and Roji's world! Kind of slice-of-life and the regular Muhyo vibes in there, but in book form. There's some drawn pictures scattered here and there, and the art is amazing as always.

If you're not an avid fan of the series, I really can't suggest it though.

: Slight spoilers :

The three chapters included are really interesting.

First ch is from Yoichi's point of view, during his childhood with Muhyo and the gang when they went to Magic Law School. You can really see their dynamics play off each other, and while they're all unlikely friends, they do still look out for each other earnestly. Makes sense why in the present, they'd still be in touch and looking for their friend Enchu together. You also get some more insight on the school's backround, and the secrets its hiding in plain sight. Makes you wonder just how much the Magic Law School and Magic Law Association as a whole hides from its citizens. Loved this first chapter. Super long, but if you get through it its very wholesome in the end. Yoichi is a character that has both a horrible character trait, and a really great one too. He's a little perv, but his friends mean the absolute world to him. 8/10

Second ch we finally get a Goryo and Ebisu centered chapter. The dastardly duo make their way to a haunted building, set on getting rid of a spirit that has been causing quite a number of casualties. Their dynamic is very cruel but Ebisu's undying loyalty for Goryo can make you gloss over that. We learn a bit more about Ebisu, and what exactly makes him tick. It's also intresting to see a perspective from characters who don't have the same type of compassion as other characters do. Ebisu and Goryo's belittling comments about the spirits in the building made me gasp in surprise, but it is not out of character for them, just surprising. In the end, no matter how devious, cunning, or downright awful Goryo is, Ebisu's heart just can't help but set him on the highest pedestal. 7/10

The third ch is short and sweet. From Roji's perspective, we get a slice of life of Roji's daily routine with Muhyo. Roji at this point is still struggling with his self assurance as Muhyo's assistant, and Muhyo's sour attitude does nothing to help. However, Roji learns that for the time being, his strengths lie in other places, such as just maintaining their office and their food situation. Muhyo values Roji's contributions no matter how small, and just wants him to do his best. This one has a sweet ending, and gosh these two are adorable. 7/10

So yeah, if you can sit down to read a novel with little to no pictures, its a pretty great read. Can't wait to read the other two short novels!
