The story is great, but you won't be able to tell that from this confusing adaptation. This manwha is going to be a huge let-down to anyone who enjoyed the original cancelled manwha years ago or read the Light Novel. I can't recommend it to new readers, which sucks because I'm a huge fan of this series.
As an avid manwha reader, I was enthralled by the original manwha that covers just the early financial arc and stops on a cliffhanger. It was unlike anything I'd read in this genre, and left me wanting more. I ended up actually reading through the full light novel because of it. When this remake was announced, I was super excited for it, wanting it to do well, but was left really disappointed.
The story jumps over so many details that I believe if I wasn't already familiar with the material I would be left completely confused. The manwha really tries to push the action/adventure side of things and that's simply not what this story is really about. Going to keep this spoiler-free, but most of the excitement is in the preparation for and later counterplay against the system and those behind it. The manwha instead glosses over all this preparation to try and rush up to the fights. When you get to them, you have no context for what is even happening. The way the introduction of Joshua was handled made me drop it in disgust.
I do understand WHY they're making this choice; the second half of the novel is incredibly gripping and much more action packed than the first, and they are trying to rush their way to it. That said, what's here is really disappointing to see and I can't get through it.
I hate to be leading people away because this is definitely one of the better light novels I've read; I got all the way through it and was gripped the whole time after a certain point (it's completed, by the way, and has an actually really satisfying ending with the side stories included). The manwha, though, I absolutely can't recommend.
