Mixed feelings about Jujutsu Kaisen (JJK). Started strong, but later lost appeal with a too much dark and somewhat plotless direction. Feels like it's adding fillers, complicating simple deaths with unnecessary subplots.
Darkness isn't the problem; it's about its purpose. Monster is dark, but its darkness serves a meaningful impact, distinguishing it from what is seen in Jujutsu Kaisen.
Reminiscent of Demon Slayer's focus on fight scenes over plot. Rating it 8, good but not as expected (there are worse mangas who have been rated 8). Recommend to JJK fanatics or anime-only viewers :P . Concerns about (more) potential decline in quality over time. (Could turn out like MHA losing its fans as the story progresses)
PS: I am upto date with the manga (250) its just i dont really know how to use MAL properly also jjk evoked strong emotions causing me to write this review
PPS: I am a hardcore bleach fan, when i first saw jjk i thought it was tybw (i saw a cursed spirit which seemed like a hollow)
Perhaps the reason why i still read jjk is because i cant really find any good ongoing mangas (the ones can think of are vinland saga, frieren, one piece, sakamoto days) (i do read the weekly shonen jump and shonen sunday and some more outliers but cant really find some impressive manga like say Monster or vagabound (born too late)) (even beserk's not been updatd for 4 months)
