Coming into this (pause) I assumed it was going to be another generic thrown on a island survival manga but to my surprise it was a thrown on to a island by people that hate you instead *chefs kiss* ah plot.
Our main character is Sakamoto a 22 year old with no job or desire to get a job that games all day living with mommy that struggles to pay the bills. Hes the 10th best player worldwide on the popular game BTOOOM! it has no guns just 8 types of bombs & sonar radar you use to track enemies for a few seconds(this will be important later). His dream is to become number in the world in the game... yeah what a fuckin loser.
While running to the store he gets snatched by men in suits wakes up in a tree attached to a parachute with a green chip in his embedded in his hand and a bag of Bombs (omg the game wdf crazy mind blown).
THE GAME:
The whole objective of the game is to kill players TO COLLECT 6 CHIPS in order helicopter escape and win a cash prize. This was all put together by the creator of the game in the pockets of some of the richest motherfuckers on the planet that want to see peasants crushed and it makes it right because the people on the island were voted onto it by people closest to them. (sakamotos mom signed off on him hence to the kidnapping).
The coolest part of this is the bombs they all have different functions which causes you to get creative in how you kill.
BOMB TYPES: HOMING (Locks on target), CRACKER(explodes on impact), TIMER(10 secs til BOOM), IMPLOSION(Sucks in everything around it and explodes) BLAZING GAS(Releases chemical gas)
AND ALSO TO TRACK PLAYERS YOU USE THE CHIP IN YOUR HAND TO SONAR FLASH THE MORE CHIPS YOU HAVE THE WIDER THE RADIUS.
In general this story is awesome and goes beyond just the island in the real world a developer that knows sakamotos in the game attempts to save him clashing head to head with the rich fucks with nerd swagger
