Dungeon Meshi is another "cooking in another world" series which stands above the other solely because of how lively and detailed it is when it comes to step by step in cooking "monster",from how to eat a poisonous scorpion in a correct way,making a broth out of it,how to properly dissect a chimera,how to cook mandrake in a correct way,how to make slime edible and more,and it's explained very well,the method used by the characters also very unique and out of the box, author has a great imagination and definitely a great cooking skill and she convey it pretty well in a form of fictional dishes.
The animation is pretty fluid and very pleasent for the eyes, it's colorful and calming,truly elevate the fantasy feels of the anime.
The characters are very well written,everyone have a distinct personality.
From calm and collected to having some loose screw to chaotic and rebellious like Marcille.
Marcille by far,is the best character in the show,despite her being an elf,she really potray what a normal human would react to eating monsters and another creepy creatures.
Not only that,this anime truly shows that they're indeed living in a fantasy world where everyone need each other,no OP characters,no too much flashy moves and magic can't instantly solves anything,everyone have to use their wits,muscle and brain.
Overall,this is a very good calm and lighearted fantasy anime,if you are interested in cooking some bizzare creature and just want some calm anime to relax to,this is a must watch.
