Before diving into the anime I should probably explain that this 24 episode show is split into 3 chapters: White, Green and Blue. Normally I wouldn't have any problems regarding an anime being split into different chapters as it isnt something strange... but the problem here emerges from... the chapters are not related at all to eachother besides happening in the same universe, and because they're totally unrelated I will talk about each one separately.

The first chapter that we get to see is the White Chapter, taking the first 9 episodes out of the 24. Albeit being quite the generic sci-fi military plot this is still probably the best chapter out of the 3 as it was the only that made me feel like I cared at least a bit about the characters in it, it was also the only one to present some kind of character development to the main and secondary characters. This is also the only chapter to have a somewhat cohesive narrative as the 2 chapters to follow feel somewhat lacking of a line that guides what's happening. Even if I claim that it's the best chapter it doesn't stop it from being something that could be called "okay" and it still shares some of the problems that the other 2 chapters have like the lack of a proper ending and undisclosed character problems.

Gunparade Orchestra White Chapter: 6/10

Following the White chapter we have the green chapter, this one takes 8 episodes out of the remaining 15 after White, and what can I say besides... It's the worst out of the 3. All about it feels flat to me, be it the characters and their development, the overall plot or even the entertainment value of it, everything falls flat compared to the previous chapter. Also although I can handle the shitty 3D mechas... shitty 3D cars when they arent even in movement is just piss poor production )this obviously isn't only a problem with this chapter... but it is most noticeable here).

Gunparade Orchestra Green Chapter: 4/10

Last but not least we have the blue chapters, which gets the remaining 7 episodes. Personally, I'm a big fan of military plots, which is probably one of the reasons I even managed to get through the green chapter... but the blue chapter, although it still follows a military unit, doesn't have any of that, the blue chapter feels more like a really mediocre slice of life with a bit of military drama included. Other thing that really confused me was that in the chapter we had the mention of gods and their powers... that wasn't brought up in any other the previous 2 chapters yet it takes a major role in this one out of the blue, like... why?
The only things it does better than the green chapter is that the characters don't fall as flat compared to it and it's the only chapter with a somewhat sensible ending to it.

Gunparade Orchestra Blue Chapter 4.5/10

Something that made me value the White chapter more than the other 2 was also the balance between the mundane lives of the characters with their military life. Green chapter, excluding some short scenes, it's mostly a pretty empty military drama without any likeable characters meanwhile the blue chapter is overly mundane and doesnt really fit the tone of the show.

Overall score for Gunparade Orchestra: Barely squeezed a 5/10
