Bloom Into You is one of the rare cases that I love a manga from a genre that I largely hate (slice of life romance). It has some of the most well written and believable characters I've seen in a story.

Yuu is a girl who thinks she is incapable of falling in love. She believes that love just wasn't meant for her and she's much happier watching others fall in love. What Yuu doesn't realize is that the reason she doesn't feel love is because she doesn't UNDERSTAND love. She's read so many romance mangas that she has this unrealistic and cartoonish expectation of what it should feel like to fall in love. And then she met Touko, and had to rethink everything about herself.

Touko, on the other hand, is a girl who has heaps of expectations placed upon her. She's expected to live up to her late sister's greatness and become even better than she was. Her parents are the stereotypical "why you not doctor yet?" kind of people. She doesn't believe she has time for love or even friends. That is, until she meets Yuu.

Together, they learn from each other and form a bond that honestly is one of the strongest I've ever seen.

Words cannot describe how much I enjoyed reading through this. More slice of life should be like this.
