There are just about no likable characters here. The main character attacks civilians for extremely petty reasons. Our antagonistic force is the empire who’s running a genocide because… well they’re evil that’s why. This sounds like a certain megahit series featuring an evil protagonist seeking revenge on the world for genocide, and that’s because this might as well be that if someone watched it and their only takeaway was that it’s edgy and all the nuance is lost. Kingdoms of Ruin has quickly established itself as truly abysmal television, and it’s a fantastic comedy for that reason.
