The second season comes out swinging the stories from season one aren't glossed over as in some shows but are expanded upon and are instrumental to season twos really strong start.
I got into Beastars because of a guy I have a huge crush on, thinking I would watch a few episodes and tell him it just wasn't for me. But wow this second season had me gasping in shock, shouting at the still at times infuriating interactions between Characters and crying over the meaningful decisions they had to make
Season two is also where the real world connections really get you to think about how this little Animal-Anime opens our eyes to the problems we face in our own society.
Really I am just said about the ending as it could've been the perfect ending to a very good show but due to this Animes success there was an Ending that feels just stuck on there so they can justify yet another season. That's why this show gets knocked from a 9 to an 8 :)
