For me, this is the pinnacle of modern shounen. The core of it is nothing new, the characters, cliches, story have been inspired by other well-known shounens. What it does well is an intricate combat system explaning sorcerers very well and how they fight. Additionally, everything is tweaked slightly, as well as giving a dark and demonic/ gorey twist (again, not new and actually super common these days as shown in Demon Slayer, Chainsaw Man, etc.). The story is interesting and has many new elements and is not predictable. Characters and character development is great. As an anime, the animation is impressive to an old school anime watcher who just started watching the new series again. I'd say this is my favourite out of Demon Slayer, Chainsaw Man and modern shounen anime (2020 onwards), after Boku no Hero.
Many complain about the MC, which I partially agree with, I like him as a character, but I do think he lacks some flavour compared to other characters and MCs in the past. I don't see this as a flaw of the series however, as it is refreshing to see a manga/anime treat the MC as a normal character and let others shine.
Like many others, I also adore Gojo Satoru, and his strength and charisma is one of the factors that carry this show, which is both a positive but also a negative of this show because it diminishes the balance and attractiveness of other characters slightly. Villains such as Kenjaku, Geto, Sukuna have fantastic designs and back stories, and the history of jujutsu as well as families, while nothing new, are all well-constructed.
