Honestly, I'd say a solid (8), then a bonus half-star just for leaving so much potential for season 2.
This show was almost pure story, and that is just fantastic. I have no idea how you'll feel about it, but for me it was a breath of fresh air that was just enough of everything: Quite entertaining, just enough action, just romantic enough, just dramatic enough, just creative enough, just funny enough to keep my full attention. The animation is solid, the world-building and comedy has both obvious and subtle sides, the story is interesting, and I genuinely want to see these two together.
It certainly could've been better, but it didn't have to be as good as it is in the first place. Definitely worth a watch.
