It's a cruel masterpiece and one of my favourites, though it has a pretty specific audience.
Still phenomenal.
I honestly didn't know what to expect, but I'm sure that was probably the point.
The animation was amazing, it really worked with the story.
Even though I wildly love it, I'm not sure if I can recommended Perfect Blue to most people.
Perfect Blue is on the gruesome side in a few ways, not at all for people with either weak stomachs or sensitivity to it's themes.
I watched it when I was rather young and gullible, expecting it to be a horror fest. It was, but my God was it even more than just that. I did watch it when I was more mature, and I'm glad I did since it blew me away a second time. It's story had impact and made me love psychological horror more.
