Story starts with the introduction of the main leads and the readers are told that the female lead secretly likes the male lead (and obviously male lead doesn't know of this). She tries to know more of her feelings and gather courage to confess while battling the constant blushing that comes while deducing the meaning behind the male leads seemingly romantic lines which he says unintentionally (or does he?).
While you would be thinking that maybe this manga does something different let me tell you this "Hell no". This does not introduce anything new to the plate. Heck it even does not try to differentiate itself from the plethora of childhood romance mangas out there. The only reason I found this was through picking mangas at random.
We get to see a Clumsy girl as the female lead, Overly calm-handsome looking guy as the male lead, female lead's friend who works part-time as a wingman, and an another girl to spice things up. Art is 7 or 7.5 at best, fits perfectly for a Shoujo manga image I have in my mind. Plot is nothing except the female lead's journey to confess while overcoming some obstacles, the perfect slice-of-life. Pacing is good too.
Meaning it has nearly every element as an average Childhood Romance manga. So why a 7?
Cause it delivered exactly what I wanted, Wholesomeness. As the Diabetes Merchant I am the only thing I expect from a romance manga is that it can provide a good romance (especially the wholesomeness), does not overuse or use the tropes in a bad way, not too annoying characters, decent pacing and a run-of-the-mill plot.
And as for the fact why I called this a gold cause of the anticipation I am feeling after reading. Only 14 chapters in and I am already looking forward to more. Another fact I only gave it a 7 is cause only 14 of its chapter are released. May increase or decrease in the near future. But I definitely want that the upcoming chapters makes me increase my rating of the manga.
