The manga is about an adult mangaka then a picture book author.
The mangaka has quite a fascination for the works. Has an assistant, talks and situations get awkward with their editor. You mostly see different situations of the progress of the manga, inspiration, how to make the environment help with their workflow/not get distracted, making a tankoban, special artwork, a book signing, school reunion as a bunch of moments I remember.
I haven't seen the end yet of course (or going to spoil 20+ chapters) but obviously things do change between characters, we see new ones, relationship changes and of course like the events above you can somewhat get an idea of what is going on with the book making process or the mangaka's life and less so the assistant.
If your find with a lot of adult content moments of manga material and making an adult audience manga you'll enjoy the jokes and moments of the book making process. If you not into many jokes and find them distracting then you may find yourself skipping pages or just giving up on reading it.
I enjoyed my time with it. I enjoy the book making process content, I don't mind the content/events in it at all. The characters conversations work well to me, I didn't find anything that awkward or off as much. That or I forgot about them.
The art is similar to what the mangaka is used to making so if you like the artstyle you'll enjoy their other works. I think it suits the situations well of the mundane or the more involved details.
It is very much for an audience but it is very well cleaned up too. Chi Chi Chi Chi you could tell the extent of some scenes with the 'moments' of the characters together and weird events happening to still be a borderline H series while this is very much only in use cases it needs to demonstrate the art or dialogue of the manga they are making so it's justified. Well I think you aren't going to find anything explicit it isn't a H manga it's a manga about making H manga.
