This was probably the most incredible 5 episodes of anime ever seen.

Being in avid anticipation of the Second part of Season 2 for what feels like ages, it was only natural for the hype to be overwhelming.

In terms of review breakdown (keeping it as spoiler free as possible):

Story: 9.5/10
Given the long awaited return of the second part of the season on Netflix and only containing 5 episodes, it was expected that story and character development be rushed (especially since Season 3 was in doubt - however, this has changed with there being a renewal confirmed for 2024). Given this luxury, the remaining 5 episodes expanded upon the anime's version of Buddha providing both background and character development in the most unexpected of ways. Even the opponents had relatable backstories bordering on fact but siding with fictitiousness. The final fight was superbly orchestrated with what seemed like decisive moments, yet indecisively working itself to a final conclusion.

Animation: 9.1/10
Fantastic visuals. The anime has been consistent with its animation since Episode 1, featuring larger than life scenes with a great amount of detail placed into the characters afflictions. In some ways its feels is modern, with its color scheme both vibrant and nostalgic - almost like playing a remastered version of Street Fighter on a high-spec PC with a RTX4090 graphics card. Intro could use some work, but that's just nitpicking.

Sound: 8.4/10
Again, the intro could use some work but on point during dialogues and fight scenes. You can even hear reverberations in the background when some of the divine treasures meet with the resistance of other opponents weapons.

Characters: 9/10
Buddha - Fantastic re-envisioning of his story line.
Villains - Each exhibits complex narratives (except the last guy who's back story didn't make too much sense and not a lot was explained)
Zeus - Comical as always (with his strength uncharacteristically creeping through)
Brünnhilde - Always with an air of mystery about her (hope we get more information on her in Season 3)
Odin - As menacing as ever (good to see him asserting dominance) [Marvel got nothing on him]

Other: 9.5/10
Major decisions around setting, ambiance, tone and dialogue worked really well this season.
I felt like the inclusion of a B----b could have been more profound and had more effect. But maybe they're keeping that for Season 3.

My hype and excitement for these last 5 episodes was through the roof - so naturally I have to give it a 9.1/10
