Those who watched and are fans of the UC timelines (MS Gundam, Zeta, 8th MS team....etc) might not like this very much.
Many consider this the best gundam series to date, however most of them just watched Wing and probably Seed and none of the UC timeline gundams. Most people haven't even watched at least half of the number of series the franchise has to offer, which is somewhat sad and then they consider this the best.
Unlike the previous gundam series, the gundams run on some magical particle (GN particles) that jams transmissions, and for propulsion and flight, and almost close to infinite energy. The show is pretty much one sided in the first half, the gundams are fast and very powerful. The gundams pretty much overwhelms the opposing forces even with just 4 units. The second half is more interesting because the battles are not one sided anymore. Near the end because of trans-am system, the gundams became somewhat the DBZ of mecha anime.
The fighting sequences are probably the best part of the series. The story was good, but not to my taste. Overall its a good show, I probably would have enjoyed it better if I didn't compare it to the older series.
