The plot is just somehow with zero explanation or link from the previous season the antagonists get here and somehow the protagonists just happen to be in the exact same place. Without a good plot and build up the arc is up to the quality of the characters and fight scenes to carry it. Unfortunately, the fight has been poorly written so far with almost no palpable tension at all and the pacing plays a role in this. The demons just don't feel threatening: they even do the cliche batman villain stereotype of I've hit u with my trap card and then proceed to walk away without killing the hero for free. The animation and choreography is as amazing as always though so its still a relatively enjoyable watch.
Overall demon slayer's character cast and plot have always been extremely weak, but in this season it felt like absolutely no care went into the narrative at all. A setting was made just to create a reason to fight and that's it. The worst season yet but if you enjoy brainless shounen fighting it's still a fun show
