Warning: The Final arc of manga is widely considered as trash and the mood spoiler of the whole manga. All good parts end with Chapter 194.
Artwork- Tokyo Revengers' artwork is the first and the greatest strength of the manga. It's artwork is so clean and neat which makes it so intriguing to read. It's incredibly drawn fight scenes keeps you at the edge of the seat. The manga's artwork also speaks of its popularity.
Plot- Tokyo Revengers has an impressive plot with lots of plot twists. Each timeline comes up with an new problem which must be resolved by the main to save his girl. Apart from the plot twists, there are the plot holes. The manga has tons of plot holes which where never explained in the manga till the end. So It annoys the reader when they don't get any answers to their questions.
Characters: Tokyo Revengers has a wide range of characters with differing personalities. Each of them has their own ideals and there are memorable characters thoroughout the series. However sometimes the reader feels the characters (mainly the antagonists) are in a way same as each other with nothing to distinguish them from the others.
Main Character Development: The worst character of the manga is the protagonist himself. He is a crybaby who cries all the time. Not that the problem is his tears. Despite being an 26-year old adult in a teenager's body, Takemichi's actions indicate lack of maturity and that he never tries to solve the problem and never tries to get stronger in the delinquent- filled Tokyo, annoys the reader. He depends so much on others and his actions aren't so appreciatable.
HOWEVER
Tokyo Revengers is still worthy. The plot twists, insane artwork, the ultimate gang wars and the unique characters is more than enough to read it. The manga sold more than 70 million copies and no one would've bought it if it was that bad. After all, The manga has become the symbol of the Delinquent-genre.
Tips from an experienced Tokyo Revengers manga reader who spent 2 years in the manga and the anime:
* The Anime's 1st season does justice to the manga and can be watched instead of the reading the first 3 arcs of the manga.
* The Anime's 2nd season is totally trash. No quality animation, bad pacing and lack of motivation makes it unbearable to watch.
* SOOOO... Dont watch the Anime after its first season.
So The Recommended Roadmap is:
* Watch the Anime's 1st season → Then, Continue the manga with the 74th Chapter.
(OR)
* Read the manga from the beginning and finish it without watching the Anime.
