This season has been disappointing. The pacing is the biggest issue. Unfortunately, every tv show, book, or movie that tries to put too much into one season, chapter or ~2hr film, will always have pacing issues. Too many characters, plots, flashbacks, and scenery shots to fit into their respective time slots. The problems this creates, in this season, are obvious. Characters feel shallower because we get less time to feel the emotions they are going through or know who they are, fights feel boring despite being flashy because our brains haven't been given a reason to care about the fight since it's been thrust upon us so fast. Each episode feels like 5 minutes and feels like nothing actually happened because if we stay on one character for too long we alienate the other plots and characters that are happening at the same time. And if you do try to slot them in, the little bit you end up showing isn't enough to make the audience feel like anything actually happened. The quality is still there and there is enough of a plot to still keep fans of the series interested in what happens. However this season is definitely a downgrade.
