This series is visually stunning and its story is compelling but it is held back by a weirdly rushed editing style. Everything from the animations to the dialogue are given so little time to leave an impact on the viewer. Watching this anime you'd think that the footage was sped up, but it's not. This issue gets worse especially during fight scenes where the camera is zooming around so fast it's hard to keep track of what is happening on screen. The story sequences are less fast but the dialogue is still cut so closely together that I found it difficult to understand what was going on at times. It's unfortunate because there are some good jokes here and there but they are given no time to land, because the characters are speaking again 1 second later.
Going into watching this series I knew it would be a mild BL action series along the lines of Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation, so no surprises there. I have to say, I'd probably enjoy this series as much as I enjoyed Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation if only the editing wasn't so jarring.
This series is worth checking out but it might turn you off due to the pacing.
