The art style is okay, looks a little too generic. It doesn't stand out.
The idea behind the anime is fantastic, a land of mysteries and peculiar oddities. However, the execution is terrible.
The characters are contradictory, as if the creator couldn't keep their notes on them in line. One minute, the female lead is competent and the next she is just a damsel in distress. The male lead is stingy with money, the next he is loose with his finances. The side characters show up for a total of 2 episodes (respectively) then we are supposed to care when they allegedly die. (They live because of course.)
Plus, almost every character you come across is either a garbage human being or has a tragic past.
I like the premise, wish they stuck with it. Also, I would smash Shuuien.
