Mixed Feelings
Otonari no Tehnshi-sama ni Itsunomanika Dame ningen ni Sareteita Ken is a great example of an unoriginal show, full of tropes repeated billions of times over the years of anime and manga, providing very little of a real or relatable content but it will give you moments of hope, which definitely makes the show worth a shot.

First things first, the beginning is very promising, first 2 episodes will definitely hook you up to the series, teasing a fresh and different approach to the trope of "a girl and a guy are neighbours and they very obviously are going to fall for each other". There are some foundations of a possible deeper backstory to both of the Main Characters but all of the expectations fall down when you realise you are 10 episodes in and the show just doesn't deliver any sort of a twist or punchline and explains everything teased in the past in about 2-3 minutes of screentime just to focus on long and pointless conversations between the MCs.

Speaking of the characters, Amane and Mahiru are both insanely unrelatable. They are acting like they are both 45 year old people, the longer the show goes on, the longer and more pointless the interactions between them become. The only moment that makes Amane look like a teenage boy and not some lonely boomer is related to the only fan-service element of the show (one moment that doesn't suit the show at all and serves no real purpose and just makes you cringe and feel dirty might I add). Mahiru is acting like a wife with no ambitions, no character, no values and no purpose in life other than helping her husband. If that's a second half you are dreaming off, then you will definitely like her, but if you expect this character to make you in anyway invested in her as a person and not as a possible waifu material then you will be deeply disappointed.

Pacing of the series is definitely off, most of the time things are running realy slow. Nothing big is happening and then suddenly the show decides to accelerate for no real reason for a minute or two just to slow things down again a second later. It is throwing viewer off most of the time and makes watching difficult especially in the last couple of episodes.

Overall I would say it wasn't a bad anime, but there are way more and way better options for some feel-good romance between two neighbouring teenagers.
