In Onimai there's literally fanservice in every crevice of the show, and it gets super uncomfortable. I was taken aback when I suddenly saw Mahiro's ass thrust into my face in the opening song when I first saw it, and the more it happened the more desensitized I got to it. There's just a bit too much fanservice, and the fact that all of the characters ESPECIALLY Mahiro look like 9 year olds doesn't really make it any better. Although, I feel like if you can (somehow) look past the tits and ass and strange loli bait, then Onimai is for darn sure an enjoyable series to watch.
As a girl myself, I found it so entertaining to watch Mahiro go through the woes and wonders of being one, and I found it pretty entertaining! Seeing girlhood being shown (in a pretty stereotypical way, mind you) in such a fun way was nice to watch. The whole shopping, chatting, prettying yourself up elements were so relatable to me specifically that I found it even more appealing. I feel like the majority of the reason why I think Onimai is pretty neat is because of the "girly" elements, I love girly things...
Not only that but the visuals in this anime are right up my alley, the smooth animation and bright pastel colours are just so aesthetically pleasing... It's like every scene in each episode could be used as a desktop wallpaper.
I love me a light-hearted anime that you don't need to think too hard about to watch, and Onimai is just a big goop of anime girls and pretty colours that I can just consume through my eyes without any second thought... minus the fanservice, which I always find myself raising an eyebrow at. Not a big fan of it.
Also the ending and opening songs are bangers. Pretty cool!
