The first chapter, and keeping it going from there, does a complete character assassination of Kirby - making him go from an innocent cute blob to a terrible jerk. The gags are often used to make Dedede have a terrible time so often that you end up feeling sad over him rather than laughing. And when it wasn't about making his life miserable, it was just plain unfunny anyways due to lack of build up and just throwing basic punchlines. Actually, the manga can be best described by a chapter the mangaka made himself - it's about ''filling a quota of gags per page''. It's in my standard the definition of quantity over quality, just hoping something lands for the reader.
The art did its job sometimes, however the mangaka himself said in his notes several times his struggles with drawing and it is noticable. Some characters expressions ends up very weak and confusing (mainly talking about Adeleine) and some panels even have notes saying ''design subject to change'' which I find just unacceptable in any manga. It just doesn't feel like a published manga, it feels like a kids home drawn one in many ways (though not the worst kid at drawing). And I think that is where its charm is actually. The manga ends up feeling like a kid manga made by a kid so I am sure if you are a kid and dont know about better manga you might like this. But if you DO know what good manga is, I recommend to steer away from this one.
