This emotional roller-coaster of an anime left a bitter-sweet taste in my mouth. As enjoyable as it was, the 'forgive and forget' outcome is extremely unbelievable. After everything they had to endure (emotional/psychological/physical abuse, emotional manipulation, eye blinding, 2 murder attempts, imprisonment and all the torture) they really said, "We know you've made our lives an actual living hell but we're just going to act like it's all okay." Akito is rewarded for her crimes with her own happily ever after.
Another gripe I had was the student council episodes with Yuki. His character development really went down hill in season 2 and sitting through his episodes was gruelling. He couldn't have been given a more lackluster love interest.
Last but not least, I don't know the rules in Japan but grown men praying on school girls is never okay! Shigure was called out many times for being a perv but Kureno and Kazuma were given a free pass. Double standards for the sake of the plot. Smh
