While this story has strong elements, and interesting plots turns like the majority of Takei's story, i believe it also suffers from the same issue ALL of his other manga suffer; poor characterization. His designs are interesting, and often have well made plot elements, but the actual characterization of them fails to provide a voice. They often feel very similar, or like they are all written the same. However the overall story and plot are fine. This manga is quite short, and thus being so easy to read it's hard not to recommend it to fans of Shaman King. However, without it being tied into the world, there would be little reason to read.
