First of all the whole series explores various routes like those in usual rpg games. Even though the genre tells that it's a harem show. But actually it isn't. Just like I said before, like in the games, the outcome varies depending on which girl the MC chooses, which isn't unusual as the anime/manga was adapted from the visual novel of the same title.

It's not surprising that many people are giving bad reviews because the MC's final act is deemed immortal.

But the story isn't only bound by that. There were other possibilities which were explored before and the outcomes of those were different. And for the note, the MC never got involved with more than one girl at the same time in any routes.

To me, the story, more like, the way they told us the story felt a bit unique. As a viewer, I fully enjoyed the anime.
