I am not usually one to take time out of my day to comment on how bad something is but the average rating of this particular manhwa makes it hard not to comment on the apparent flaws.
I read a good chunk of this book to say that I am quite acquainted with the story and to quickly summarize my points-to-be I can only say that the art is held back by some disappointing writing.
The formula of a female character getting isekaid into the villainess role of a work of fiction is not new by any means, with many works of this trope being successful and enjoyable to read it is natural to assume that messing something like this up is not the easiest thing in the world. And yes I wrote that to only say that the story in this manhwa was bad or subpar, to say the least.
Let's start from the positives, shall we?
Without a doubt, the most impressive part of this manhwa is the art. The absolutely gorgeously drawn panels are the only things that give this work any kind of value in reading. Everything from the characters to the various settings is presented with the highest level of detail. If I were to give the art a rating it would undoubtedly be 11/10, the drawings are an absolute treat to the eyes and even calling them gorgeous would not do them justice. But that is, alas, where the good things end.
The story is mostly the same as that of other manhwas/mangas of this trope, except for some shuffling around in the roles of characters. The plot seemed interesting to me at the start, as it would to anybody who knows nothing of the story, but as I kept progressing it began getting mildly frustrating very quickly. From what I read the manhwa felt as though it tried to focus way too much on the drama aspect of the story rather than the romance, this is not how these novels succeed but it would also not be a big problem if the story and plot itself were presented and written well, but neither the writing nor the presentation is handled well. Constant contradictions of character traits, too many "coincidental" moments to progress the plot, lack of regard for logic and explanation of story elements, apparent forcing of the progression of the plot, and no time to get attached to any characters, I will elaborate further on some points, but I could seriously go on with the negatives.
I wrote "no time to get attached to any characters" for my lacking a better collection of words to describe the fact that only the plot gets pushed in this story, there is no chapter of respite, where you can see some characters interact, get to know them better, grow a bit attached, there's none; and once a major point in the story has come to an end a coincidental moment is sure to follow to get back to progressing this, at best, mediocre plot.
The manhwa diligently portrays the FL as a smart/calculating character only for her to be oblivious to affection and make poor/illogical plans that, of course, end up working at the end of the day. It is frustrating to see these moments followed up by her thinking clearly in dangerous situations or her just showing the ability to carefully and correctly assess things like royal politics. This betrayal and contradiction of character traits are not exclusive to only the FL, but I really don't want to write out them all, for there are too many of these embarrassing moments.
I will say again that I do not enjoy slandering someone's work, but it is just so disappointing that a manhwa with such gorgeous art has this many flaws.
Anyways, my final opinion is that if you just want something that has amazing art and care little about the story, then by all means read this, but, as it stands, this manhwa is unbearable to someone who actually gets interested in the story, and the plot of everything they read.
My final rating is 4.7/10.
Also, if you want something that is similar to this troupe, a manga that has good art and a very interesting/well-written story, I recommend "Like Wind on a Dry Branch" on webtoons.
