I wasn't hoping this adaptation to be good, I read the webtoon and seeing that Netflix is making an anime adaptation of Lookism, I was a bit worried it might be a terrible one, but boy was I wrong.

For a Netflix adaptation, Lookism is a pretty faithful and good adaptation, there's a few things missing from the adaptation such as Jin-seong's date with Mi-jin and others but other than that, it's really well done. The animation might not be the best but it still looks good, my only problem with it is a random use of CGI, like why would they do that? The story doesn't feel rushed, it flows smoothly and it depicts the bullying, both physical and verbal fairly well. I'm sure newcomers to Lookism will enjoy it even if you don't like K-drama or K-pop. Too bad it's only 8 episodes, I really wanted it to be like 4 episodes longer, but this makes it easier to binge for how short it is. I don't really get the harsh review for this show even tho it's not THAT bad. I'm not really hoping for a season 2, they did set up quite a few things for season 2. I hope they decided to continue it because they're doing great with this adaptation. I recommend reading the webtoon if you're interested about how the story goes but I feel like PTJ strayed too far into shounen territory after like 200+ chapters.

Overall, Lookism is a good anime, you should give this show a go with how interesting the story is and an accurate depiction of bullying and different treatment based on how you look.

Thanks for reading
