Warning: This review contains minor spoilers for the first 3 episodes of Mob Psycho 100 III

After having seen 5 episodes of Mob Psycho 100 III, I can confirm that it is easily one of the best things airing right now, and I'll tell you why. (I just wished more people talked about it)

As this is season of Mob Psycho, I'm sure you have all watched the first 2 seasons, so I won't go into detail on those. Instead, I'll describe the greatness of season 3. Many of us were thinking after season 2 ended "this story ended on a pretty good note" or "everything was wrapped up nicely" and while I would agree with you, it was also apparent to me that this story wasn't quite over yet, and there were still places to go and experiences to be had in this universe.

First off I'll just quickly talk about some production stuff that isn't related to the story.

Animation: 10/10

The animation in this series has been nothing short of stunning and it shows. This new season certainly hasn't been letting down in that front. Not only does every single fight scene look absolutely gorgeous, but even when there isn't much going on, you can tell the animators put a lot of care and effort into this series. Good job, Bones.

OST: 10/10

This soundtrack is always stunning everytime I hear it. It has those tracks that you just won't be able to forget no matter how much time passes. I do love how they always bring back "Explosion of Mob's feelings", as it's so iconic to the series, while also introducing us to new insert songs for respective seasons.

Characters: 10/10

If I said that characters weren't a strong point in this show I'd be lying. Each character has their own role to play and while I definitely have favorites (Reigen best sensei and Mob best boi), the rest of the cast is super interesting too, each of them getting their own backstories and a very respectable amount of screentime too. Even some of the minor characters get their moments and time to shine, which I really appreciate since that's not something you always see. My only small complaint I have is that it doesn't look like Teru will be a majorly important character this season, which is a shame since I think he's a very cool character, but oh well. Maybe I'm mistaken and he will be very important, or maybe he'll have some sort of other role, either way time will tell.

Story: 10/10

The season kicks off right where the last one ended. Mob, Reigen, and Serizawa (umbrella guy) are doing office work as well as helping with consultations or any such guidance for their clients. That was most of ep 1. Tsubomi now also has the hots for Mob since he saved the world or something last season, so I'm glad we're getting development on that front. Oh, and remember the broccoli from last season? Everyone is now seeing it as an object of worship and it's essentially their new god lol. It's a strong way to bring us in.

Now, ep 2 imo was a little weaker. It focuses around the adventures of this Yokai Hunter (who is basically just a bootleg psychic) and he pays the crew big bucks in exchange for them to exorcise the spirits that he couldn't get rid of. It was nice and funny, but that was pretty much it tbh.

Episode 3 is where things really kicked off for me. I'm assuming you still remember the broccoli. So, people are praying to this broccoli, but they want to associate a face, more specifically, a person to it. So they're like: who created this divine object? And naturally, they realize that it has to be the leader of the psycho helmet religion (I'm glad they brought that back).

Basically some stuff happens and while I won't go into exact detail on the specifics (since I don't wanna be spoiling you guys) panic ensues, hell breaks loose, and there are a lot of really good fight sequences that follow us up (mind you we haven't even reached the best parts yet).

So, from the 5 eps out so far, it's truly amazing. Mob will forever go down as one of my favorite anime because it does such a great job balancing comedy, storytelling, character development, wholesome moments, as well as those hella awesome and clean fight scenes that you just love to see in anime.

Overall I'd give it a 10/10 (and the crazy part is we haven't even reached the best parts yet, since those tend to happen towards the final few episodes of the season).

If you're hesitant on watching Mob Psycho 100 III, don't be.
Go watch it right now.
I promise you'll have an amazing time.
