Pretentious future setting that doesn't add anything meaningful to the core premise of cute girls doing crafts, and exists only to make the show appear more creative than it actually is.
Pretentious "primary school fine arts class" visual design that serves the same purpose. Rather than Eizoken, it actually reminded me more of Fuujin Monogatari. Only that series at least went all the way with an equally "artsy" story and atmosphere, so the finished product appeared thematically cohesive. The fact that here an "artsy" design is used for a CGDCT actually makes it even more pretentious than Fuujin Monogatari, which is not a small feat. Speaking of CGDCT (and simultaneously moving on to flaws not appearing in the original Eizoken):
Soulless artificially-manufactured-moe characters, K-On style. The main character is Nadeshiko from Yuru Camp, a laid-back airhead with permanent sleepy eyes and bed hair. Except Nadeshiko still somewhat resembles a human being, whereas this MC is a completely flanderized cartoon (again, K-On style). The rest of the cast are a flanderized tsundere, flanderized shy girl, and so on.
A complete lack of creativity. There is a reason I've already referenced twenty-six other anime titles in just four paragraphs. The show is a Frankenstein monster patched together from ideas, tropes, and characters appearing in other, better shows. There is not a whiff of originality. And the worst part of it:
It's boring and pointless. Yuru Camp managed to make Cute Girls Doing Physical Activity fun. Mug Cup managed to make Cute Girls Doing Physical Activity fun. This one is not fun. Not only does it rip off other shows without adding anything meaningful, it also just fails to be a CGDCT on the basic level. And, hilariously, even its failure is as uncreative as it gets - it's yet another stereotypical pretentious and disappointing original anime production.
3/10 for "waste of time."
