story well this was one of the things that had some worth problem is with the characters as weakly written as they were it would of been better to start things at the beginning of things falling apart so atleast watching the world fall apart and see the failed attempts to keep order and save civilization might of provided a decent amount of entertainment and distract from the weakness but sadly it starts after most of the human world been wiped out issue two there was basically no good reason for time travel this always unnecessarily distracts from things but the worse part is the ending which just gave up and had stupid twist ending that basically said everything happened because of aliens it already had to much poorly mismatched bullshit but the whole alien thing is basically just saying a wizard did it but the good is the creatures and the few details given of the world being taken over by these creatures it showed how society triad to deal with things at first and these parts even the brief were far far better then anything else offered but sadly to neglected to save the show
art this was a mix bag the creatures while the designs looking unique the actually animation for them just never felt right it always felt like a bit more work was needed but when it came to the scenery for those who love shots of the ruins of civilization there are good amount of shots for those people which might be the only other thing this offers the there was a bit of wasted opportunity to try and add more world building with the sensory as this could of been used to add even more details of civilization final moments before collapse but as the two studios that made this seem to not have much history they likely were already stretch thin doing the scenes that were in the show
the characters might be the worse part of the show basically all character details are dumped in one chunk and basically none of them are written well enough to be interesting they just have nothing to them and to top things off there is a good bit of hacky writing so really maybe one or two moments succeed other then that they fill space because the show need character to place in this world really the world is by far the more interesting part about this show
in the end i gave this a 4 do to the ending before it i was going to give it a five even the i felt it just barely deserved it but the ending just jammed to much hacky writing to ignore if you are one of those anime viewers who feel they gain something analyzing something that was messily made it might be worth a watch but i hesitate to recommended this for the average anime viewer there are far far better post apocalyptic anime that have a some what similar idea specially from other asian countries that truly are making a point to seriously compete with japan anime like Ling Long which do a great job in stating they can do more then be background help or rip of a popular anime they can create masterpieces
