First of all, this anime and all it's adaptions and everything is a total mind fuck. What you thought was true turned out to be false, and characters you loved or hated, switched up like no other. This anime is filled with confusion, great story-telling & amazing music! In my opinion this is the greatest horror anime ever made. If you want to understand the plot further - I'll tell you this list. (In order)

4. When They Cry SOTSU (2021)
("SOTSU" Is the second season of When They Cry Gou.)
There is a bunch of story and episodes to this series as a whole. This is an anime you have to re-watch so much then you would understand most of it.
Note- When They Cry 2006 & When They Cry (Kai) They both have gore, but not to the extent of Gou.
Gou is the one with so much gore it's disturbing. But the show is still good anyway.
I'll help you. The first 4 episodes is one story, then every chapter is a different world (chance) for each of the characters. At the end of the show one of the characters (avoiding spolier) remembers the repeat of the world. This ends into the intro for "When They Cry Kai"
I highly enjoyed it. 10/10.
